Final Year Project

Project Title

Exploring Experiences of Polycystic Ovaries Syndrome with Health Practitioners and Patients in Karachi

Description

My thesis examines the experiences of Polycystic Ovaries Syndrome (PCOS) with patients and healthcare practitioners in Karachi. PCOS is one of the most prevalent reproductive conditions worldwide which affects around 19% to 33% of the female population. Since female healthcare is a taboo in Pakistan, this condition often remains undiagnosed or gets misdiagnosed which leads to worsening of the condition, thereby causing infertility, diabetes, severe weight gain, and even depression. The aim of my thesis is to recommend policies which can help bring a positive change in the health sector of Pakistan, and improve experiences of women suffering from this condition.
